This Intensive English course is communicative based, with an emphasis on developing speaking and listening skills. Based at our language school, the course is designed to help ESL students improve both spoken and written English. With six levels of study, this language course features a comprehensive curriculum of integrated skills — grammar, vocabulary & idioms, speaking & listening, and reading & writing.

You can study English with our professional, experienced and attentive instructors who guide students towards fluency with creative and helpful learning activities. With 14 or less students in the classes, students have plenty of opportunity both to practice their English and meet interesting new friends from around the world.

Course for those students wishing to study even more seriously. During the morning and the afternoon the students will join the Semi-Intensive English Course and after that they will join 2 level-appropriate elective course availables at that time, such as the TOEIC iBT Preparation Class, the IELTS Preparation Class, Academic Writing, Pronunciation or others.

GEOS offers a Semi-Intensive English Course for those students who want to study English in the morning but leave their afternoons free for travel and other leisure activities.

During the morning session, students study four English skills - reading, writing, speaking and listening - through a “Communicative Language Teaching” methodology. New grammar patterns are learned in the context of a conversation or a real-life situation. Students also use various activities to practice English conversation including listening tasks, role plays, and discussions. Practical reading and writing tasks and vocabulary studies are presented as well in our 6 available levels. Students can begin on any Monday.

During the afternoon session, students will cover a variety of topics while practicing English conversation management, North American conversational styles, and pronunciation. Students learn commonly-used idioms and slang in a communicative way. Teachers also use various activities to practice these new idioms including listening tasks, role play, and discussion.

The IELTS Test Preparation Program in Toronto will help students develop their listening, reading, writing and speaking skills in preparation for the IELTS® Test. In the IELTS Test Preparation Program in Toronto, students will learn test taking strategies to help them reach their IELTS® test score goal. Students will prepare specifically for the listening and speaking modules, as well as the Academic Reading and Writing components. Mini tests will be administered throughout the course to track the students’ progress.
